A Silver Lining.

One of my favorite Owl City songs is called Cave In.

And my favorite lyric in that song is:

"If the bombs go off, the sun will still be shining. Because I've heard it's said that every mushroom cloud has a silver lining."

Now, what I love about his songs is that his lyrics have such meaning. I mean think about it.

"If the bombs go off." A bomb, of course, is a bad thing. So basically, I interpret this to mean, if something bad happens, the "sun will still be shining", the world isn't over, its alright. Everything is ok. Its gonna be fine.

Now, a mushroom cloud is the result of an atomic bomb, and as we all know, thats very, very bad. And a silver lining is a sign of a good thing. So if there's a silver lining to a mushroom cloud, that means that no matter what horrible thing happens, it will be ok in the end. God won't let us fall completely.

Think about Job in the Bible for example. He had a "mushroom cloud" happen when God allowed Satan to basically ruin his life. But he didn't give up. He didn't turn away because he saw the silver lining, he saw that things would be ok and that he wasn't alone.

Just, dwell on this for a while.
